Proclamation from City Commission of Cocoa Beach for 60th Anniversary.

Marge Jones, President along with Bernadette Hanse, Marilyn Bollo, Karen Bense and Pam Johnson where there on the evening of 16th October 2025 to accept a new proclamation from Mayor Keith Capizzi in honor of our 60th anniversary.

Summary:

The Cocoa Beach Woman’s Club, founded on September 7, 1965, and chartered by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, Florida, is honored by the City of Cocoa Beach for 60 years of dedicated community service.

Throughout its history, the Club has made significant contributions to Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, and Brevard County, supporting education, arts and culture, the environment, civic projects, health, and wellness.

Major accomplishments include:

  • Sponsoring the first Cocoa Beach Senior Citizens Club (now Freedom 7 Senior Center)
  • Helping develop key community areas and parks (Fisher Park, Jetty Park, Bicentennial Park)
  • Contributing over $500,000 to the Cocoa Beach Country Club and Community Center
  • Supporting schools with scholarships, leadership programs, and teacher appreciation events
  • Publishing two successful cookbooks sold worldwide
  • Aiding humanitarian efforts, including hurricane relief and refugee support
  • Supporting organizations such as the Women’s Center of Brevard, Space Coast Art Festival, and Drown Zero Project

In recognition of these achievements and six decades of service, Mayor Keith Capizzi and the City Commission of Cocoa Beach extend their appreciation and congratulate the Club on its 60th anniversary, officially proclaiming the celebration in October 2025.
