What a great turnout for supporters of the Brevard Zoo and the upcoming Bowen Aquarium!

Hundreds of folks came out to hear the latest updates from Brevard Zoo CEO Keith Winsten and enjoyed an awesome talk on great white shark research from OCEARCH’s Chris Fischer — definitely a crowd favorite.

The Cocoa Beach Woman’s Club was proudly represented by Marge Jones, Marilyn Bollo, and Clare Jones, as Founders helping make the Bowen Aquarium dream a reality.

The big update of the night: things are moving full steam ahead! The aquarium design is 90% complete, lease talks with Port Canaveral (the partner and future home) are going strong, and construction and financial teams are coming together to lead the way.

Because of rising construction costs, the fundraising goal has been bumped up to $140 million — but the best part? They’ve already passed the halfway mark! All eyes are now on breaking ground later this year at the Port.
