February General Meeting

Date: 2/06/2025
Location: Cocoa Beach Woman’s Club
Attendance: 50 members in attendance, with 6 visitors.

The latest Cocoa Beach Woman’s Club meeting saw a great turnout, with over 50 members present and an additional 6 visitors. Members and guests gathered for an informative and engaging session that focused on community involvement, current events, and future projects.

Visitor Presentation:

The guest speaker for the meeting was Jack Kirschenbaum, who presented to the group on the topic of The Freedom Forum and First Amendment rights. The Freedom Forum (http://www.freedomforum.org) is an organization that focuses on promoting and defending First Amendment rights and fostering discussions about freedom of expression. Jack’s presentation was insightful, shedding light on the importance of safeguarding our fundamental freedoms and exploring the role of the media, education, and society in preserving these rights.

It was a valuable opportunity for club members to broaden their understanding of freedom of speech and its significance in today’s world.

New Member Installations:

The meeting also marked a special moment as two new members were officially inducted into the Cocoa Beach Woman’s Club.

  • Narahya Byrne, sponsored by Kelly Malik
  • Nancy Mallon, sponsored by Maura Burger (with Clare Jones in absentia)

Both women were warmly welcomed, and their involvement will undoubtedly bring new energy and ideas to the club’s ongoing initiatives.

CSP Group Breakout Sessions:

In line with the club’s focus on community service, the meeting featured breakout sessions where the various CSP (Community Service Projects) Groups gathered to discuss plans for the year and brainstorm new projects. This was a productive segment where ideas flowed freely, and members collaborated on ways to make a positive impact on the Cocoa Beach community.

Heart Month Theme:

In honor of Heart Month, members were encouraged to wear red and pink to show support for heart health awareness. The colorful display was a beautiful reminder of the importance of health and wellness in the community.

With such a strong attendance and participation, the Cocoa Beach Woman’s Club is poised for another year of growth, service, and advocacy.
